Disciple Classes

These intensive Bible studies include daily reading and weekly discussions. Through Disciple you will be strengthened in faith and guided into service. Disciple classes begin in September and end in May.

Disciple I: In this study you will read 75% of the Bible beginning in Genesis and ending in Revelation. The focus is living life as a disciple of Christ. This class will meet on a week night and will be taught by John Kingsbury.

Disciple III: In this study you will read the Old Testament prophets and the New Testament letters of Paul. Using a portfolio of maps and charts, these OT and NT writings are placed in historical and geographical context. This class will meet on Wednesday or Thursday evenings and will be led by Ben Berges.

Disciple V: Jesus In the Gospels. In this study you will focus on the portraits of Jesus found in the four Gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. This class will be on Tuesday mornings from 9-11 and led by a team of people.

The Progressive Christian Group

Our gathering together is designed to promote reflection and action as people who identify as Christians in a 21st century world. We desire to encourage and nurture authentic relationships and conversation about our faith. We choose to embrace questions more than dogma. We assume that our faith grows and changes as our understanding of Scripture, tradition, our experiences, and our world expands. We explore our relationships with God and seek to love our neighbor, as we continue to come to love ourselves -- with our struggles, inconsistencies, and joys. We pursue how living in a diverse cultural and religious global world, we might embrace others by being just, compassionate, and working for peace. We usually include a time of centering, a time of communicating what has challenged, inspired or nurtured in the past weeks, a time of inquiry into an idea or question posed from the group or its members, and a time of setting intentions for the weeks ahead.

Any are welcome to join us on any given week. Come, let us reason together on an expansive Christian journey.

  • We meet every other week at 6:00 pm. Future mtg. times through 2010 are: Oct. 17th, Oct. 31st, Nov. 7th, Nov. 21st, Dec. 5th (break for holidays). More info contact Evelyn Hanssen at 303-394-1651- drehanssen@yahoo.com.
