OUR THREE GIFTS
A Program of Faithfulness

God has blessed us with so much and as members of his family and this church; we are to remember what our privileges are through this membership. Each day we hear and see advertisements that remind us that ‘Membership has it’s privileges’, but what does that mean to us? It is an opportunity to make connections with other people of faith, to get involved and to make promises to the church as well as in all we do to, to God. Everything we have already belongs to Him; everything we do is in His name!

GOLD: The Magi brought gifts of wealth worthy of a King. We too offer gifts of wealth, from the blessings and bounty God has given us. By offering the tithe, we dedicate labors, indeed out entire lives to God. By offering our money to building a new addition we can grow with grace. On November 10th, we will dedicate our financial commitments to God. We give with a thankful and giving heart!

MYRRH: Myrrh was an important ingredient of the sacred anointing oil. We too shall give “anointing oil” by meeting the needs to our church and others. On November 17th we will offer our time and talents to others in need here at SHUMC and in our community. Be mindful, we are blessed through helping others.

FRANKINCENSE: Frankincense was incense set before the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle. When burned, the smoke was thought to rise up to Heaven as a prayer. So to we will offer our prayers and lives. During the month of November, as we prepare our gifts, we will participate in prepared daily devotions. We will offer our prayers to God and then on Sunday, November 24th, we will rededicate our lives to God!

December 8th is when we will open our hearts to the coming of the Lord. There will be a celebration that evening at 6pm to be held at Grandview High School. The evening will be a chance to celebrate our commitment to our church and God with food, fellowship and carols. It is FREE, but Tickets are required for all!
