Smoky Hill UMC loves being known as a child-friendly church, and we are so blessed to welcome new families, children, and youth each and every week.  Green maps are available in the Narthex to help you find classroom locations, or just ask anyone with a red “Smoky Hill Kids” lanyard!  We are happy to help!

Children's Sunday School

9:15 EACH SUNDAY
Children’s Sunday School for all children ages 2 by 10/1/07 through 5th grades

  • Butterflies through Kindergarten use the “Godly Play” hands-on story-telling curriculum.
  • 1st-5th grades use the “Exploring Faith” curriculum.

Both emphasize Bible stories and how we live as Christian disciples in our world.

  • Doves (age 4 by 10/1/08 and 1 year until Kindergarten) – Rm L10

  • 3rd Grade – Rm 219

CREATIVE BIBLE TIME
We look forward to seeing you and your children in Sunday School each and every week! You are precious to Jesus and to us! Children are invited to attend both of our Sunday School hours in order for their parents to participate in both worship and an adult Sunday School class.

Creative Bible Time is for children ages 2 by 10/1/08 thru 5th grades

  • Preschool children use the “Exploring Faith” curriculum which emphasizes hands-on learning through story, crafts, and activities.

  • Kindergarten thru 5th graders rotate between crafts, music and games, and drama each week after coming together for the storyteller’s presentation of the story of the day.

Room Assigments

  • Preschool (age 2 by 10/1 08 thru non-Kindergartners) – Room L08
  • Kindergarten Creative Bible Time – Room L12
  • 1st/2nd grades Creative Bible Time – Room 217
  • 3rd-5th grades Creative Bible Time– Room 215
  • ALL Youth start in Room L06 at 10:30 for music and refreshments then to:
  • Middle School – Room 212
  • Senior High – Room 216

Nursery

Smoky Hill United Methodist Church provides a safe, loving, fun, and comfortable environment for both you and your child.  Nursery is available for children ages 5 and under only at the 8:00 service and 2 and under only at the 9:15 and 10:45 services.

You are encouraged and welcome to help your child feel comfortable in the nursery by staying in the room as long as necessary. [more info]
